Faiza Azam is a youth-climate activist from Brooklyn, New York. She is a rising sophomore at John Jay College of Criminal Justice majoring in information security and minoring in environmental justice. Faiza got started in the climate movement at John Dewey High School’s Resilient Schools Consortium community-based program to ensure her high school did not suffer the damages of another hurricane after Hurricane Sandy. She later began to pursue more opportunities in the environmental movement, such as promoting and educating wildlife conservation as a member of the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Discovery Guide program at the New York Aquarium and the Bronx Zoo. Now, Faiza is hard at work with pushing for equitable science-based policy as a Field Advisor for Our Climate NY and interning for NYS Assemblymember Carroll in order to ensure that climate change is a priority for her state.
