Reema Bzeih is a recent graduate from UC Irvine’s Master’s in Public Policy program who specialized her studies in Environmental Policy. She is passionate about pursuing a career in climate policy that addresses the intersection of environmental health and environmental justice; or how factors like poor air quality and contaminated water impact human health and are especially prevalent in disadvantaged communities. Prior to becoming a SCPN Fellow, Reema worked in a number of roles that included analyzing natural resource exploitation research and policies for U.S Congresswoman Katie Porter’s office; analyzing the impacts of climate change on vulnerable populations in developing countries for the United Nations, and leading the charge to help UC Irvine accomplish carbon neutrality by 2025 as a UC Carbon Neutrality Fellow. She is excited to take on her role as a SCPN Fellow and hopes to gain more experience and expand her skills on state climate policymaking.
